Chief Engineer of Rosseti Alexander Faustov held a working meeting in the Voronezh branch of IDGC of Centre
Alexander Faustov visited the Grid Control Centre of Voronezhenergo (GCC), where he got acquainted with the operational situation in the distribution grid complex of the region, and then held a meeting with heads of the technical unit of the branch. Its main themes were the current production problems and prospects of development of the Voronezh power system in 2015-2019.
As Director of Voronezhenergo Ivan Kleymenov pointed out in his speech, power grid facilities in the region have good potential for development. The Voronezh region is the only one of the subjects of the Central Federal District that showed in the past year growth of energy consumption. In this regard, there is a need for expansion and modernization of the electric grid infrastructure.
A similar opinion was expressed by other speakers. In particular, it was said that, despite the fact that the Voronezh region is an energy donor (following the results of 2014 the total volume of electricity generated reached 14 billion kWh, while its consumption does not exceed 10.5 billion kWh) there is an area where there is a shortage of power. As an example, there are developing suburbs of Voronezh - Novousmansky and Ramonsky districts, and where there is intensive housing construction, increase in industrial and agricultural production. The meeting unanimously agreed that to solve this problem reconstruction of existing and construction of new power centres should be carried out, and made a number of proposals for increasing capacity of power units of Ramonsky and Novousmansky districts.
