OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2015. As of end-June, the 10 biggest constituents of the FTSE ST Small Cap Index are Trusts – six are real estate investment trusts, three are business trusts, and one is a stapled trust. These 10 constituents have a combined index weighing of 32.4%.

The 10 biggest constituents trade at an average price-earnings ratio of 16.0 and have an average indicative dividend yield of 7.0%. In the year thus far, the trusts averaged a price gain of 4.0% and dividend-boosted returns of 8.4%. This brought their one-year and three-year average returns to 10.6% and 52.0% respectively.

The five best performers among the 10 largest constituents year-to-date were First Real Estate Investment Trust (+16.6%), Ascendas India Trust (+14.0%), Soilbuild Business Space REIT (+13.5%), Frasers Commercial Trust (+12.4%), and Keppel Infrastructure Trust (+12.4%). These five trusts have a combined index weighting of 16.8%.

Trusts currently trading closest to their 12-month highs are Soilbuild Business Space REIT, Frasers Commercial Trust, First Real Estate Investment Trust, Ascendas India Trust, and Cache Logistics Trust. Of these five, three trusts (Soilbuild Business Space REIT, Frasers Commercial Trust and First Real Estate Investment Trust) traded at their 12-month highs during the second quarter of 2015.
