OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2015. New Ford Mustang took to the streets of Cologne for the annual Christopher Street Day parade at the weekend.

More than 800,000 visitors packed into the city centre to see more than 137 different groups take part in what is the biggest Pride parade in Europe.

The annual Christopher Street Day parade is a celebration of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, and transgender people.

Ford’s GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees) Network has been a keen participant for many years. Approximately100 GLOBE members and their friends took part in Sunday’s parade with new Ford Mustang, which was recently awarded the title “European Gay Car of the Year 2015” by the European gay motorists organisation “Ledorga”.

Ford and Ford GLOBE also invited ten representatives of LGBT media (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) from the five largest European markets to Cologne.

As well as watching the parade, guests got to take a ride in new Ford Mustang and Ford Focus ST through the nearby countryside “Bergische Land” and could visit a Ford sponsored street festival, where different  new Ford models were presented.

Ford GLOBE was founded in the U.S. in 1994, and German and U.K. chapters were established in 1996. Full domestic partnership benefits for Ford’s LGBT employees were established in 2003. The group’s mission is to provide a fair workplace for LGBT employees.
