OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2015. VTB has granted Rostelecom a seven-year RUB 15.6 billion loan to finance Russia’s Digital Framework as part of a government programme to support investment projects.

Russia’s Digital Framework is aimed at expanding the capacity of main and regional networks for IP MPLS data transfer. Implementation of the project will raise the communications infrastructure of Siberia and the Far East to an entirely new level, which is vital for developing these regions and enhancing their investment appeal.

Rostelecom is the leader on the Russian broadband and subscription television market, with over 11.2 million BBA users, and over 8.1 million TV subscribers, out of which more than 2.9 million watch Interactive TV, a unique federal programme.

Revenues in the first quarter of 2015 were RUB 71.7 billion. Operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) reached RUB 24.5 billion (34.2% of revenues), while net profit was RUB 2.1 billion.
