OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines OJSC manufactured and factory-tested the turning  gear of a high-speed turbine with 1,200 MW capacity, for the first power unit of the Belorusskaya NPP under construction.

In accordance with the contract, Power Machines shall manufacture and deliver two complete turbine plants, including high-speed steam turbines with a capacity of 1,200 MW each, condensers and turbine plant auxiliary equipment, including two complete turbogenerators with capacity of 1,200 MW with auxiliary equipment. Besides, the Power Machines experts shall render design services and mounting supervision services.

Commissioning of the Belorusskaya NPP first power unit is scheduled for 2018, second power unit - for 2020.

Belorusskaya NPP, comprising two power units with capacity of 1,200 MW each, will be constructed in Grodno Oblast of the Belarus. It will be equipped with machinery similar to the kinds used at Russian NPP-2006 project and other NPP production sites. At the present time, Novovoronezhskaya NPP-2 and Leningradskaya NPP-2 are under construction by the NPP-2006 project with WWER-1200 reactor. The main power equipment for these plants is manufactured by Power Machines.

Belorusskaya NPP project is a 3+ generation project and fully conforms with international standards and IAEA recommendations, features enhanced safety specifications and technical-economic indicators.
