OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines manufactured and shipped the third - the last one - 46.6 MW hydrogenerator for the Kygy HPP being constructed in Turkey.

The contract for manufacture and delivery of the hydraulic equipment for Kygy HPP being constructed in the Elazig Province was signed by Power Machines and the Turkish company DSI (Directorate for State Hydraulic Works of the General State Agency for Water Resources under the Ministry for Forestry and Hydraulic Works) in December 2013.

Pursuant to the contract, Power Machines shall manufacture and supply HPP electromechanical equipment on a turnkey basis, including three hydroturbines of  46.6 MW each complete with  pre-turbine gates, three generators of similar capacity, all electromechanical equipment for the machine hall, and a switchgear. The project shall be completed with the power plant's three hydraulic units commissioning, scheduled for 2016.

The first hydrogenerator is already delivered to the HPP construction site by now, while shipment of two others is scheduled for June of the current year. Besides, Power Machines have manufactured two hydroturbine runners and continue hydroturbines and last runner manufacture process.

Power Machines' participation  in the Kygy HPP construction project represents a continuation of the successful activity conducted by the Russian power engineering company in Turkey. For example, in 2008, Power Machines implemented an equipment supply and installation supervision project for the Torul HPP.

Earlier, in 1980s, Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Eleсtrosila, partes of Power Machines, manufactured and supplied a steam turbine with capacity of 210 MW complete with a generator for Orhaneli TPP, as well as two steam turbines with capacity of 55 MW for Iskenderun TPP in Turkey. Also, Taganrog's Krasny Kotelshchik Boiler-Making Plant, a part of OJSC Power Machines, supplied six boilers for the power plant's six power units in 1970s.

The company's regional branch has operated in Turkey since 2003.
