OREANDA-NEWS. The Rostov NPP fulfilled the plan for electricity generation on 104.4% in six months of this year.

It was actually generated 9 billion 16 million 700 thousand KW h of electricity with the planned volume of 8 billion 639 million 500 thousand. KWh of electricity. In 2014 it was generated 6 billion 801 million 500 thousand KW h of electricity during the same period.

The increase in electricity, which has been produced over the plan since the beginning of 2015, has amounted to 373.3 million kWh.

The capacity factor (load factor) for the half of the year was 88.52%, when the plan had been actually 83.94%.

Power units №1 and №2 of the Rostov NPP are operating in project mode according to dispatch schedule of capacity at the moment. Power unit №3, located in pilot operation, has been disconnected from the network by dispatch application for scheduled repair works since June 24.

The radiation background at the plant and the surrounding area is unchanged and is at the level, which corresponds to the normal operation of power and do not exceed the natural background values.

The Rostov nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. There are two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt operating at the nuclear station. The power unit No. 1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010. Power unit №3 physical launch was in November 2014, energy launch - in December 2014. Power unit №4 is being constructed.
