OREANDA-NEWS. Nissan plant in St. Petersburg started test assembly of the Qashqai crossover, General director of the enterprise Dmitriy Mikhailov informed.  

It is expected that serial assembly of the Qashqai will begin in the fourth quarter of 2015. The exact date will be announced later, the head of the St. Petersburg enterprise said.

In tote, the decline in production at Nissan plant in St. Petersburg was about 30% in the first quarter of this year, the head of the enterprise said. According to him, the plant is operating at 2/3 of its capacity at the moment. The enterprise is now operating two shifts, but potentially it could work three shifts. "Our production volume is weekly adjusted to the sales". Export plans of the company "are in the stage of development," Mr. Mihailov  said.
