OREANDA-NEWS. Kazakhstan automobile assembly plant Asia Auto resumed assembly of the Lada 4x4 SUV. Today it is the only Lada model, produced at the plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Technically, the vehicles is no different from what is assembled at AVTOVAZ in Togliatti. The SUV is equipped with 1.7-liter 83 hp petrol engine, five-speed manual transmission, permanent all-wheel drive with lockable central differential. Price is from 1.59 million tenge (about 468,000 roubles. In Russia, the Lada 4x4 can be bought from 405,000 roubles).

Meanwhile, Asia Auto and AVTOVAZ are currently negotiating about production of other vehicles of  Lada lineup. General Director of Asia Auto Kazakhstan (the new plant, which will be launched in about two years) Yerzhan Mandiev told to Kolesa.ru that "negotiations about the launch of SKD and MKD production of the Lada 4x4 Urban, the Granta, the Priora, and the Vesta were not finished yet. However, the probability that some of these models would be on the (existing) Asia Auto production line this autumn is very high".
