OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2015. The Minister of Information Technology and Communications Pavel Filip had a meeting with the Minister of Administration and Digitization of the Republic of Poland, Co-President of the Republic of Moldova – Republic of Poland Parliamentary Assembly (RM-RP PA), Andrzei Halicki. The opportunities for deepening the bilateral relations in the field of the development of Information Society, communications sector and electronic services were discussed during the meeting.

Pavel Filip mentioned that the relations between Moldova and Poland in the ICT field are at an advanced level, comprising various branches of activity: “We have already implemented a number of joint projects and the Republic of Moldova has benefited from the expertise of Polish specialists. In the future, with a view to the European integration process, it is also necessary to develop bilateral cooperation in other areas. During the meetings we’ve discussed the draft law on IT parks - a project that will grant attractiveness to the ICT field. The Republic of Moldova has a strong position when it comes to communication field, but the IT industry needs to be developed, thus and we rely on the support and assistance of the partners from the Republic of Poland”.

In the same context, Andrzei Halicki expressed his gratitude and satisfaction for the opportunity to stay in the Republic of Moldova, pointing out that “in addition to the various areas of cooperation, at the moment, necessary prerequisites are available to develop cooperation between postal services operators. We should seize this opportunity and develop mutually beneficial relationships that will contribute to the modernization of society. Another areas for bilateral cooperations are the e-commerce and electronic services, which come to eliminate any type of terrestrial borders and deepen the relations between states.”

The bilateral meeting ended with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in administrative modernization area between the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Administration and Digitization of the Republic of Poland, which concludes the discussed premises and gives an incentive for deepening the partnership.

As a deep gratitude for the substantial contribution to the development of the Moldovan-Polish friendly and cooperation relations, as well as for the assistance offered in the optimization of the society democratization process, Andrzei Halicki was decorated by the President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti with the “Order of Honor”.
