OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2015. Bosch Packaging Technology, a leading global provider of process and packaging technology, and Klenzaids Contamination Controls Pvt Ltd. are now operating a joint venture. The relevant antitrust authorities have approved Bosch’s acquisition of 49 percent of Klenzaids shares. Headquartered in Mumbai, this Indian owner-managed company produces processing, packaging, and clean-room technology for the global pharmaceutical industry. The two partners’ aim in this joint venture is to extend their global reach, particularly in liquid pharmaceuticals and packaging machines for clean-room environments. The jointly run company will employ some 380 associates. Both product brands, Bosch and Klenzaids, will continue to exist.

Broader range of products and services for customers in India
The joint venture is being set up primarily to benefit Indian customers. Both companies will immediately be better placed particularly to meet customers’ growing need for complete lines from a single source: Klenzaids will contribute its expertise in clean-room and processing technologies as well as peripheral systems, and Bosch will contribute its strength in innovative filling technologies. Klenzaids provides customers in the private and public sectors not just with plants, systems, and accessories but also with turnkey solutions: buildings and equipment that a customer can use as soon as they are built or assembled to process and package its particular product. These solutions include laboratories with the highest protection class for use in the field of biosafety.

Strategic complement to the location in the state of Goa
Bosch Packaging Technology already has a presence in India through its location in Verna, in the state of Goa, where it has been developing, building, and selling vertical and horizontal flow wrapping machines for packaging food as well as filling and sealing machines for liquid pharmaceuticals since 2012. To date, Bosch Packaging Technology has sold over 1,500 packaging machines to leading brand companies in the food and pharmaceutical industries in India.

Klenzaids assumes responsibility for Bosch import sales and service
As a result of this approved partnership, starting July 1, 2015, Klenzaids will be expanding its business to include sales and service of imported Bosch systems for the pharmaceutical industry in India. Bosch associates who already work mostly out of Mumbai will transfer to Klenzaids headquarters. All other Bosch and Klenzaids sales and service experts will continue to serve Indian customers from their existing locations. The aim is to offer customers continuity in their points of contact while also enabling associates at both companies to pool their knowledge and experience.

Hamish Shahani is CEO
Hamish Shahani, managing director of Klenzaids for many years, has assumed the role of CEO for the joint venture. Hamish said: “In the future we will continue to aim for profitable growth, innovative strength, reliability, motivated associates, and cultural diversity. We will be able to pursue all these values even better together.” Shreedhar Anehosur, the JV’s COO, has worked at Bosch for the last 17 years. He played a major part in building up the Verna location in the state of Goa as the local engineering head.
