OREANDA-NEWS. According to Auto-Dealer-SPb agency, 48,275 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in St. Petersburg in January-May 2015, - that is 39% less than for the same period last year. The result of May was one of the worst during the year – 9,572 vehicles were sold (lower sales were registered only in January). Compared to May 2014 the decline in sales was 38% - During two previous months (March and April) St. Petersburg automotive market decreased by more than 40%.

The market leader has changed for the first time in almost 2.5 years. The first place was taken by Korean KIA, which left behind Renault, absolute bestseller of the market since January 2013. Two brands in the TOP-10 had positive dynamics in May -  KIA and Mitsubishi. Ford moved up to the 11th place, having forced back BMW, which was in the TOP-10 in the I quarter. 

The share of St. Petersburg remains 7.5% of the total new vehicle market in Russia in January-May 2015.
