OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2015. SORAINEN Estonia advised on the sale of mail.ee to Latvian web portal inbox.lv. According to Andris Grikis, manager of inbox.lv, the acquisition serves the purpose of expanding the company’s operations not only to Lithuania but also to Estonia. “We have a very secure user interface, which takes into account local features and has more data capacity than Google Gmail, for example. This gives us a good competitive edge for operation on the Baltic market,” says Grikis.

For users of mail.ee, only the visual appearance of the portal will change – the mail.ee domain as well as all the mailbox contents and passwords will remain unchanged. Accounts will be transferred to the new environment smoothly, e-mail box capacity will be automatically increased to 20 GB and new free-of-charge services will be added to the current services list.

Involving more than 420,000 accounts today, mail.ee was established 13 years ago. Local capital based inbox.lv has been operating in Latvia for 15 years. With approx one million regular users in Latvia, it is the biggest local web portal both by turnover and by number of clients. In Lithuania, inbox.lv has been present for seven years and has 550,000 users there.
