Changan Ford Takes Media on a Test Drive of the All-New Ford Focus
OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2015. Changan Ford invited two batches of media—Buff magazine, and online and new media—to go on a test drive of the all-new Ford Focus, which was held at Yanqi Lake in Beijing. A total of 78 reporters from 53 different media outlets participated in the test drive. The purpose of the event was to communicate the full product advantages of the all-new Ford Focus to incite excitement and buzz running up to the pre-sale and launch.
The two test drive waves featured talks to further educate media about the all-new Focus. Talks were given by Chen Xiaobo, director, Marketing, Changan Ford Sales Company, and Yeh Ming Hsin, deputy director, Changan Ford Sales Company to welcome media to the test drive and to share the great brand and product power of the all-new Focus. Kelvin Deng, senior brand manager, Marketing, Changan Ford Sales Company, also spoke at the events about the 10-year glory of the Focus brand in China, how each Focus model fits with consumers’ demands and market trends in China. Yang Ke and Deng Gang, from the Technical Development Center, were there to walk media through the all-new Focus’ leading advantages in powertrain and smart technology, particularly noting the class-leading features in the vehicle.
The events also had three experience zones featuring Parking Assist, SYNC 2 and ACS. These technologies were on display to engage and demonstrate the main smart features of the all-new Focus.
The drive itself was divided into two parts. The first part involved media test driving the new Focus around the picturesque Yanqi Lake, giving them ample opportunity to take photos of the beautiful scenery and have a first-hand experience behind the wheel of the new Focus.
During the second part of the test drive, media got to experience the great power, precise handling, outstanding fuel efficiency, smart technology and assured safety on different roach conditions. The driving route took media through the countryside and on highways and expressways, all of which demonstrated the new Focus’ leading superiority in urban driving and also excellent ability to adapt to various road conditions.
This test drive event also effectively used social media to amplify the overall experience, from online invitations, online interactive experiences and games. The use of technology helped the team deliver the product features of the all-new Focus, effectively creating a natural tie-in with the vehicle’s smart features.
