OREANDA-NEWS. KAMAZ will lease electric buses to GUP Gorelectrotrans (St. Petersburg). This was agreed by the head of GUP Gorelectrotrans and KAMAZ Deputy General Director - Director for Development Irek Gumerov and Director for Leasing and Sales Development of KAMAZ - CEO of Leasing Company Oleg Yershov during the St. Petersburg talks. They discussed the KAMAZ-52994E electric bus trial operation in summer and winter, possibility of development of a trolleybus with a large storage battery, purchase of the necessary vehicles for the ‘northern capital’, KAMAZ press service reports.

The KAMAZ-52994E electric bus unveiled this spring at the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum of passenger transport is the second generation of electric buses, characterized  with very fast battery charging - from six minutes, long battery life, low operating costs, the ability to operate 24 hours and to be charged outdoors even in winter. Electric bus is repaid in 5-7 years and saves up to 20% of the costs for 10 years of service compared with the bus.
