OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2015. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with ambassadors of the Group of Seven member-states.

The meeting discussed in particular the issue of energy security. The Prime Minister has stressed that this is an extremely important issue, including for all the G7 member-states.

He recalled that last year Ukraine together with the G-7 countries managed to reach a tripartite agreement at the level of Ukraine, European Union and Russia on gas supplies to Ukraine and gas transit to the EU.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine appealed to the G7 member-states to support Ukraine in the implementation of the same mechanism now: "In order to ensure safe transit to the EU and gas supply to Ukraine on the basis of a comprehensive agreement between the EU, Ukraine and Russia, which should include a tripartite protocol and addendum to the current contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom.

"Together we can achieve success in getting a similar agreement, which we had last year," he underlined.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has also emphasized that the Government of Ukraine highly appreciates the support of the Group of Seven in the Ukraine's fight for its independence and territorial integrity, "We call on Russia to fulfill the Minsk deal. The Government of Ukraine is doing its utmost in order to implement it. We really appreciate your support and your steadfast stance regarding this issue."
