OREANDA-NEWS. According to Auto-Dealer-SPb agency, in January-May 2015, Toyota, GM, Nissan and Hyundai plants in St. Petersburg produced 125,600 new passenger cars, which is 24% less than for the first five months of last year. In May, the volume of production declined by only 14% compared to May 2014 - 24,900 vehicles were assembled in the city. So the rates of decline in production were less than 20% per month for the first time this year. 

The share of St. Petersburg automobile industry in the Russian vehicle production started to grow again. If in the I quarter it was 20.1%, during the four months it increased up to 21% and reached  22.1% as per the results of January-May. 

Top 25 best selling car models in Russia in January-May includes four St. Petersburg representatives - the Hyundai Solaris, the KIA Rio, the Toyota Camry and the Nissan X-Trail. Moreover, in May, three St. Petersburg models entered TOP-5 market leaders.
