OREANDA-NEWS. VTB Bank has provided RUB 16.5 billion in financing to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft for a term of up to one year. The funds will be used to refinance the company’s foreign currency liabilities.

"This transaction will enable the company to proceed with plans to reduce its debt burden after the government’s recapitalisation of United Aircraft Corporation. VTB’s priorities include supporting the country’s strategically important companies," Valery Lukyanenko, member of VTB Bank Management Board, said.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is a subsidiary of Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company and is part of United Aircraft Corporation. The company was established in 2001 to implement Sukhoi’s commercial projects.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft manufactures the SSJ-100 (Sukhoi Superjet) regional aircraft and employs over 1,500 people, including at production facilities in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Novosibirsk.
