OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2015. Tallinn University of Technology hosted 7th International conference „Economic Challenges in Enlarged Europe“, which brought to Tallinn more than 60 economists from various European countries as well as the USA and Canada. This conference series is organised by TUT in collaboration with the Bank of Estonia and US economic research societies.

We had the honour to host the renowned professor and expert of emerging economies Josef C. Brada as keynote speaker. He presented his recent paper on the microfoundations for the role of corruption in foreign direct investment. Conference participants presented their papers in three parallel sessions – Macroeconomics, Finance and Economic Environment.

In addition, the conference program included a very useful workshop by Professor Ali M. Kutan from Southern Illinois University for young economists on how to publish in top economics and finance journals. We have partnered with 5 high ranking economics journals which will publish selected papers from the conference.

Many participants mentioned the high quality of the papers presented and we hope that similarly to previous years many participants will come back to our conference in the next years. The next conference in this series will take place in Tallinn from 19-21 June 2016.
