OREANDA-NEWS. Belorusneft and Oil India Limited confirmed their intention to cooperate by signing a memorandum of understanding.

The document was signed by the officials of the two companies in Minsk during the Belarusian-Indian business forum.

Indian state oil and gas company Oil India Limited ranks second in the country in terms of exploration and production capacity right after ONGC. Its main activities are concentrated in the north-eastern states of India. It also works outside the country - in Algeria, Venezuela, Iran and Libya, Nigeria, the United States and the Republic of South Africa.

The two companies have not yet outlined specific joint projects, but are now discussing various areas of cooperation. For this purpose, they appointed contact persons, and the experts are exploring scientific and production potential of the companies during mutual visits. For example, oil experts from Oil India Limited are interested in Belarussian scientific technologies of oil production stimulation and EOR, which were tested in Polesie region.

It is possible that India's ONGC company will also take part in mutual beneficial cooperation
