OREANDA-NEWS. According to AUTOSTAT analytic agency, 71,800 new vehicles (passenger cars and LCV) were registered in Kazakhstan in January-May 2015, that is 25% more than for the same period last year. In May, the number of registrations (11,400 vehicles) decreased against this April and previous May (-5.4% to the last year). This indicates gradual decrease in the new car import from Russia - a trend, registered by experts in April.

AVTOVAZ remains an absolute leader in the Kazakh market. One in four new vehicles, bought in the country during five months of 2015, is LADA (25.6%). Almost 18,400 VAZ vehicles were registered during 5 months of 2015. The second place belongs to Hyundai with 8,600 vehicles, which is 89.2% more than a year ago. Toyota is on the third place with 8,500 vehicles (+62.4%).

TOP-10 also includes KIA (6,600 vehicles), Renault (3,900 vehicles), Nissan (3,700 vehicles), UAZ (2,700 vehicles), Volkswagen ( 2,600 vehicles), GAZ (2,500 vehicles) and Chevrolet (2,400 vehicles). We should mention that the statistics includes registrations of both passenger cars (PC), and light commercial vehicles (LCV).

According to the executive director of AUTOSTAT agency Sergey Udalov, we should expect further decline in the Kazakh automotive market in the months to come. A significant increase in registrations during the first quarter of 2015 was caused by a large number of new cars, imported from Russia privately due to the significant difference in prices. Now the prices of vehicles in Russia and Kazakhstan are almost equal.
