OREANDA-NEWS. Ford Motor Company is contributing to skills development in Angola by donating vehicles to a joint technical training initiative conducted by dealer group Robert Hudson and government department CINFOTEC.

Ford donated two Rangers, an EcoSport and a Focus to the programme in order to develop and enhance the skills of technicians in the automotive industry. The Mechatronics Training Workshop was inaugurated at the Integrated Centre for Technological Training – CINFOTEC and will allow for first time training courses in mechanical and automotive electricity.

“Our commitment to excellence involves partnering with our dealers to share our collective passion for the industry as well as to educate and empower the technicians of the future,” says said Rob Johnston, Regional Manager Sales and After-Sales, Ford Sub-Saharan Africa.

“The donation of the Ford Rangers will support this government-partnered training programme, thereby empowering the local community and leading to a more highly technically skilled workforce that is more proficient and productive.”

Pitra Neto, Minister for Public Administration, Employment and Social Security (MAPTSS), as well as Gilberto Figueira, General Manager of CINFOTEC, Gabriel Almeida, Managing Director of Robert Hudson and Lloyd Marlowe, Ford Fleet Sales Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Eugene Prinsloo, Ford Market responsible for Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as other responsible institutions were present at the event.

"The Room of Mechatronics Training Practice, will extend the range of courses in terms of initial and continuing training, creating the opportunity for our youth to create a sustainable self-employment or of others, as well as those already working and looking for training to increase or raise their skills in mechanical and automotive electricity, "said Gilberto Ferreira, General Manager of CINFOTEC.

The Mechatronics Practice was also equipped by Robert Hudson with emphasis on the following equipment: hydraulic lifts, diagnostic equipment (DS708), metallic top workbench, battery test MDX-335P with printer, charger batteries, headlight focus mechanisms, car with mechanic tools, silent compressors and many other essential components to automobile mechanic training.
