OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of May 2015 came to about 1,057.814 million m3, down 9.1% from May 2014.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 263.573 million m3, down 4.4% from May 2014, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 174.137 million m3, almost equal (up 1.1%) to that in May 2014.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 461.592 million m3, down 15.3% from May 2014, due to the decreased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 158.513 million m3, down 7.2% from May 2014, due to the decreased demand of the other companies.
