OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2015. The UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and AREVA organized yesterday at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Paris the first nuclear decommissioning and waste management supplier event. This occasion gathered more than a hundred participants from France and the UK.

Hosted by the British Ambassador to France, Sir Peter Ricketts, the event provided companies a platform to facilitate the emergence of partnerships. The objective is notably to assist UK companies in developing their capabilities and to maximise opportunities for domestic and international decommissioning and waste management markets.

The event was also an opportunity for AREVA to present its supplier qualification processes as well as an update on the company’s current and future UK projects and supply chain opportunities.

“AREVA is keen to support the development of a skilled UK supply chain in decommissioning and waste management through its participation in projects such as the Silos Direct Encapsulation Plant project in addition to other future perspectives,” said Caroline Drevon, AREVA Back End Business Group Senior Vice-President, Strategy, Marketing, and Development.

“We hope that this event will lead to the creation of fruitful partnerships between the French companies already part of our supply chain and their UK counterparts to benefit our projects in the United Kingdom,” added Francis Hamelin, Supply Chain Vice President for AREVA’s Back End Business Group.
