OREANDA-NEWS. Flint Hills Resources reported emissions following planned maintenance at an aromatics extraction unit Sunday at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Emissions were detected around a frac tank holding materials cleared from the UDEX unit. Operators discontinued the flow of material to the frac tank, ending the release of material to the atmosphere.

The incident resulted in emissions of benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylenes, among other materials.
