OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot has been recognized as the Company of the Year in the Transport category by the National Award. The solemn ceremony was held on June 4 in the President Hotel.

The Russian leading airline gets this prestigious and one of the most coveted business awards in Russia for the seventh time and triumphs in the Transport category for the third year running.

The annual National Award "Company of the Year" notes the most significant achievements in the business area. The expert council traditionally consists of influential economists, businessmen, politicians and public figures who determine the winners according to the rankings provided by analytical portal Anews.com. Among the winners are the brightest and the most significant industries representatives who have shown impressive results in 2014. 

In 2014 Aeroflot has set a new record in passenger traffic in the history of modern Russian civil aviation by transporting 23.6 million passengers (34.7 million passengers within Aeroflot Group). Aeroflot’s initiatives in the modernization of the Russian civil aviation legislation made it possible to launch the classic low-cost carrier, operating today under the name Pobeda.
