WTCC Race supported by Rosneft held in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 7, Rosneft Race of Russia, a Russian-based WTCC race, took place at the Moscow Raceway, where Lada Sport Rosneft showed its best performance in this season with Rob Huff, ranking second, winning his first prize in 2015.
Rosneft is actively engaged in supporting Russian athletes and investing into public sports events. The company believes all these initiatives are important for promotion of healthy lifestyle in Russia.
After the race, its organizers, including FIA President Jean Todt, emphasized the high level of the event’s preparation, while car pilots highlighted the quality of Moscow Raceway’s pavement. The asphalt’s upper layer at the raceway was laid using Alfabit road bitumen made by Rosneft.
The Alfabit road bitumen group was designed on the basis of a world-famous European technology, which is successfully applied for highways construction in Germany. Alfabit was used during building the Moscow ring highway, Kutuzovsky prospect in Moscow, and Nevsky prospect in St.Petersburg. Moreover, Rosnteft’s road bitumen was utilized for the Sochi Autodrom Formula 1 racing track.
In April 2015 Rosneft and Eurosport Events, promoter of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, signed a partnership agreement. It allows Rosneft increase its media involvement in the championship by becoming the Event Presenting Partner of the WTCC races in Russia and China, two flagship events of 2015. Rosneft is the general sponsor of the LADA Sport team in this season’s WTCC as part of agreement signed in 2014. FIA WTCC is an international series of circuit races for touring vehicles under the auspices of the International Automobile Federation, or FIA. Currently, World Touring Cars fitted with 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged engines take part in WTCC. |
