OREANDA-NEWS. Bahrain Bourse (BHB) signed on Sunday, 7th June 2015 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society going in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day in 2015, under the theme “Women in the financial and banking sector”, as directed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The MOU aims to contribute to enhancing the joint cooperation between Bahrain Bourse and the Society in activities related to spreading investment awareness among the members of the society.

The MOU was signed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse and Mrs. Ahlam Janahi, President of Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society.

The MOU aims at increasing investment awareness among the members of the society. It sets the path for organizing training sessions on the essentials of saving and investment and working jointly to develop the content of the sessions. Both parties will jointly form a working committee to agree on an action plan in order to implement the mentioned objectives.

Shaikh Khalifa said that the signing of the MOU with Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society goes in line with BHB’s efforts to cooperate with different parties with the aim of developing the capital markets sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and spreading investment awareness among Bahrain’s community.

“The Signing of the MOU will contribute to further cooperation and coordination between the Bourse and the Society in the sense that more activities and events will be organized to highlight the investment opportunities available for investors at BHB. We are seeking to encourage women to benefit from such opportunities so we can see a greater contribution of their daily trading at BHB, as it is in GCC Bourses. The upcoming period will witness the launch of various initiatives and programs that aim to increase investment awareness among all categories of citizens and residents, ensuring the Bourse’s commitment to support those initiatives that will help us achieve this objective in all possible ways,” Shaikh Khalifa added.

Mrs. Ahlam Janahi said, “Signing this MOU goes in line with developing the role of Bahraini Businesswomen, and one of the objectives of the society is to spread awareness on the investment sector.” Mrs. Janahi thanked Shaikh Khalifa for his understanding in encouraging Bahrain Women to enter the economic sector and activating the MOU by implementing it and focusing on joint events.
