OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2015. Toyota company, which launched two new manufacturing workshops (body part stamping and plastic part production) at its plant in St. Petersburg and started production of the new Toyota Camry in November 2014, continues to modernize its enterprise. According to Toyota Motor president Hidenori Ozaki’s words in an interview to Kommersant newspaper, in the future, the company plans to increase automation of the welding shop: the launch of the new robotic body welding line is expected in August 2015. 

"Moreover, we placed seat and door trim supplier Toyota Boshoku at our production facilities. So, the level of production localization came up to 30%",- he said. 

By the end of 2015, production capacity of the enterprise will be increased from the current 50,000 to 100,000 vehicles per year. In 2016 the plant will begin CKD production of the Toyota RAV4 crossover. The launch of the new model will create 800 new jobs. 5.9 billion roubles will be invested in the expansion of production, and the total investments in Toyota enterprise in Russia will come up to 16 billion roubles by the end of 2015.
