OREANDA-NEWS. At the all-Russian meeting Greenhouse Agriculture Development, Shvabe Holding demonstrated an innovative device, an energy-saving LED lamp producing light in the right spectrum to accelerate photosynthesis in plants.

The prototype lamp developed by Urals Optical & Mechanical Plant OJSC, a Shvabe Holding enterprise, is designed for illuminating greenhouse plants. Having a service life of over 50,000 hours, the device generates a spectrum that ensures the best plant growth by accelerating the photosynthesis processes; it is also easy to install and use.

"The presentation of our new product triggered interest towards our device among agricultural companies. Currently, negotiations are under way to enter into contracts for supply of these devices to Russian agricultural companies," explained Ivan Ozhgikhin, Director of Shvabe LLC.

The all-Russian meeting of the heads of regional agricultural authorities, greenhouse companies and entities working on sheltered ground called "The Development of Greenhouse Vegetable Growing Based on Innovative Vegetable Growing Technologies Using Greenhouses and Equipment of Local Manufacturers" was held in Kazan. Traditionally, it was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Greenhouses of Russia Association, which were joined by the government of Tatarstan this year.
