OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2015.  FCA Canada Inc. today reported May 2015 sales of 31,617, compared with 31,498 in May 2014. These results mark the best sales month in the 90-year history of the Company. 

“Posting an all-time record sales month while dealing with temporary constraints on some of our highest selling products proves just how diversified and strong our product portfolio has become,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, FCA Canada.  “With a \\$2 billion investment in the new minivan program and the  retooling of the Windsor Assembly Plant now complete, our employees are back to building Canada’s best-selling minivans – Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, which makes us very optimistic of our sales outlook at FCA Canada.”

Sales Highlights:

The Jeep brand posted its best monthly sales ever with 9,527 units sold, marking its 15th month of consecutive year-over year sales gains.  Two Jeep brand products set sales records in May.  Jeep Cherokee experienced its best month of sales ever with 3,312 copies sold, marking an increase of 50 per cent over 2,208 units sold in May of 2014. With a 7 per cent increase in year-over-year results, 1,426 Jeep Grand Cherokee sales led to a monthly record for Canada’s best-selling full-size SUV.
 
May 2015 sales represented an all-time record for the Ram brand with 10,040 trucks sold.  Truck customers, from half-ton to commercial, have a demanding range of needs and require their vehicles to provide high levels of capability. Ram trucks are designed to deliver a total package.  Looking specifically at Ram pickup truck sales within the full Ram brand line-up, there were 9,418 sold in May 2015, compared with 9,074 trucks sold in May 2014.  These results represent a 4 per cent year-over-year increase and mark an all-time sales record. 
 
FCA Canada Passenger car sales continue to resonate with consumers, as evidenced with an increase of 15 per cent in year-over year results, with 4,688 units sold in May of 2015, compared with 4,081 sold in the same month, one year prior.  Leading the pack is the Chrysler 200, which offers a fuel economy as good as 6.4L/100km (44 MPG).  In May of 2015, there were 1,398 Chrysler 200 sedans sold, an increase of 42 per cent over 986 sold in May of 2014.  The Canadian-made Dodge Challenger, a vehicle unafraid to bend the rules to give its customers exactly what they want, set a May sales record with 566 units sold, an increase of 177 per cent over 204 sold in May of 2014.
