OREANDA-NEWS. Due to recession in demand in the Russian market, KAMAZ production line will operate seven instead of the planned 12 days in June, deputy general director of the company Alexander Ushenin said. Days of downtime will be paid in the amount of 2/3 of the average wage, and will be used for temporary work and trainings - these programs are supported by the federal and republican budgets. KAMAZ operated three days a week in April and four days a week in May, Vedomosti newspaper reports. Production capacity of the enterprise is on average of 200 vehicles per day, the representative of the plant said.

In January-April 2015 the sales of 14-40 ton KAMAZ trucks in Russia decreased by 49% to 5,000 vehicles, the whole market reduced by 62% to 9,200 vehicles. To compensate for the losses in Russia and to take advantage of the rouble devaluation, the company increases export: in the first quarter of 2015 it grew by 28% up to 895 trucks and knockdown kits. Foreign supplies grow mainly due to Azerbaijan, Vietnam and Latin America. Another promising export market is Egypt, where KAMAZ intends to resume its export after a pause of at least five years. The company is looking for a partner in this country, and is considering possibility of export of chassis in the first stage.  In the future, in case of sufficient demand and favorable economic conditions, truck assembly can also be organized there, KAMAZ representative says.
