Charlie is delighted with the award. He said: “I was really surprised when I found out I had been put forward for the award. Even if I hadn’t won the regional heat, I was really touched by the fact my manager had put me forward for it.”

Mark Needham, Charlie’s manager added: “Charlie has a fantastic attitude to work, is a great support for his colleagues and has gained additional qualifications over and above what is required as part of his apprenticeship. He’s an excellent ambassador for the apprenticeship scheme and a shining example for our industry.”

Tim Millard, Regional Director for Electrical and Instrumentation and Railway Services added: “Charlie is an ideal example of what can be achieved and is a credit to the business.”
