OREANDA-NEWS. According to Auto-Dealer-SPb, in January-April 2015 Toyota, GM, Nissan and Hyundai plants in St. Petersburg manufactured 100,700 passenger cars, which is 26% less than for the same period of the previous year. In April, production decreased by 24% compared to April 2014 and amounted to 29,200 vehicles. However, it is still the best monthly result this year.

Positive dynamics of vehicle production was last registered a year ago, when in April production volume increased by 100 vehicles compared to the same period of 2013. 

Today Hyundai generates 72% of the total vehicle production in St. Petersburg (66% in 2014). April became the first month when GM did not produce vehicles –only SKD assembly is currently active here.

During four months, the share of St. Petersburg automotive industry in the total Russian production grew compared to the first quarter up to 21% (vs. 20.1% in January-March).
