OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2015. Pre-start hot functional tests - the final tests before fuel loading - have been completed at unit 2 of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in India, Russian state nuclear enterprise Rosatom has announced.

Russia has supplied two VVER 1000 units at Kudankulam, with unit 1 starting up in 2013. ROSATOM deputy general director Alexander Lokshin told reporters in Tatarstan on 15 May that the second unit would be commissioned this summer, according to the current schedule.
