Suzuki intends to keep its share in the Russian automotive market
OREANDA-NEWS. Suzuki Company plans to keep its share in the Russian automotive market at the last year's level, general director of Suzuki Motor Rus Keiichi Sumida said. "We want to retain our share of 0.8% [result of 2014]," - he said.
Mr. Sumida did not announce planned volume of sales for the current year in terms of numbers. "Now it is difficult to predict. We will sell as much as we can, "- the director of Suzuki subdivision in Russia said. According to him, in August the company will start sales of the Vitara all-new model, which "will be the flagship of the model lineup" in Russia. Moreover, the company plans facelift of the SX4 and the launch of new models. Particularly, in 2016, Suzuki plans to begin sales of the Alivio sedan in Russia, Vedomosti reports.
In April 2015 Suzuki sales in Russia reduced by 75% to 496 vehicles. In January-April the decrease was 75.3% to 1,760 vehicles. For the first four months of the year the company’s market share came up to 0.3% vs. 0.9% a year earlier. In 2014, Suzuki reduced sales in Russia by 28.1% to 19,931 vehicles and curtailed its share from 1% to 0.8%.
