CBR: On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals
OREANDA-NEWS. On May 25, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:
- A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number
5111-0292) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 1000 Roubles (catalogue number5220-0019) of the series „The 155th Anniversary of the Bank of Russia”.
Description of the coins of precious metals:
A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31,1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39,0 mm, mintage 10000 pcs) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 1000 Roubles (fine metal content 155,5 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 50,0 mm, mintage 155 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins „ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE ROUBLES), „ОДНА ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ” (ONE THOUSAND ROUBLES) respectively and the year of issue „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.
- of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles bears a relief image of a fragment of the building facade of the Bank of Russia in Moscow, a symbolic clock with a clockwork in the form of coins above and a text containing information regarding zones of mega regulation of the Bank of Russia in six lines on the right. There is an inscription along the circumference — „БАНК РОССИИ ОСНОВАН В 1860 ГОДУ” (BANK OF RUSSIA WAS FOUNDED IN 1860);
- of a gold proof coin in denomination of 1000 Roubles depicts a relief image of a fragment of the building facade of the State bank Central department in Saint Petersburg
(1860-1918), a symbolic clock with a clockwork in the form of banknotes and coins above and a text containing information regarding aims declared when the State bank was founded in six lines on the left. There is an inscription along the circumference — „БАНК РОССИИ ОСНОВАН В 1860 ГОДУ” (BANK OF RUSSIA WAS FOUNDED IN 1860).
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
