OREANDA-NEWS. On April 22-23, Mr. N. Spasskiy, Deputy Director General of ROSATOM, made a work visit to Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mr. N. Spasskiy together with  Mr. B. Kamalvandi, Vice-President of Organization for Atomic Energy of Iran, chaired a new meeting of bilateral work group established in accordance with Memorandum on expansion of cooperation in the area of use atomic energy in the peaceful purposes dated November 11, 2014. In addition, Mr. Spasskiy made a meeting with Mr. Salehi, Vice-President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Director General of Organization for Atomic Energy of Iran.

During the meetings there were discussed the issues of construction of new NPP units in Iran in accordance with Russian design and cooperation in the associated areas. Mr. Jagaryan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Iran took part in the meetings.

Upon completion of the meetings Mr. Spasskiy paid a friendship acquaintance visit to a nuclear fuel production facility in Isfagan upon invitation of the management of Organization for Atomic Energy of Iran.
