Severstal increases supplies to the construction industry in Russia by 20%
OREANDA-NEWS. PAO Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, increased supplies to Russian building contractors by 160 thousand tonnes in Q1 2015, which is a 20% increase versus Q1 2014.
Severstal offers a wide range of products for construction industry: long products, including ArmaNorma (a new type of A600C rebars), color coated coil including branded products (Steel Silk and Steel Velvet), structural pipes and roll-formed sections, hot rolled and cold rolled steel.
Dmitriy Goroshkov, Head of Marketing and Sales of Severstal Russian Steel division, commented: “In total, Severstal supplied about one million tonnes of metal products to Russian builders in the first quarter of this year. The company makes the best offer of the product range and associated services. This year, within the announced Customer Year, we are launching additional initiatives to increase the range of products for construction, develop associated services and improve communication support”.
Supplies of long products increased by 110 thousand tonnes or 37% in Q1 2015 year to year; supplies of pipes and roll-formed sections increased by 16% or 23 thousand tonnes.
In accordance with customers’ needs, Severstal TPZ Sheksna launched
production of profiles with dimensions of 150 x 100 mm and pipe wall thickness
from 5 mm to 10 mm which will be supplied to the Central, North-Western and
Volga Federal District. Shipments of color coated steel increased by 25
thousand tonnes or 18%.
