Seadrill Offshores Payroll to SafeGuard
Seadrill provides offshore drilling services for national, international, and independent oil companies. Incorporated in 2005, Seadrill now has the second largest fleet of deepwater drilling units in the world. Today, it employs over 8,000 employees across 16 countries spanning four different regions.
For many years Seadrill had run an in-house payroll system. However, following an internal change in personnel and their forecasted high-growth, an internal decision was made to review outsourcing options. Working in collaboration with an independent consultant, Seadrill evaluated the market with the brief of sourcing a strong and flexible partner that had the proficiency to process a complicated Dubai expatriate payroll with over 2,400 employees.
Simon Coyle, HR Project Lead at Seadrill, commented, "Due to the retirement of key personnel within our in-house team, we needed to act quickly in not only sourcing, but also implementing a global payroll solution. After evaluating the market, SafeGuard World International was the only provider that could meet our aggressive timelines, complex payroll requirements and had the capacity to manage our long term growth strategies."
Bjorn Reynolds, Chief Guardian and founder of SGWI, said, "Seadrill first reached out to SafeGuard in 2014. After demonstrating our detailed implementation approach and plan would satisfy their tight timeframes, the senior executives involved with the project were sold. Combined with our functionality to integrate with their HCM platform, SafeGuard World's ability to drive a consistent and compliant approach to delivering global payroll was able to fulfill Seadrill's key objectives for the project. We are thrilled to be administering payroll services for a growing multinational company such as Seadrill, and look forward to providing world class support for years to come."
