OREANDA-NEWS. AVTOVAZ started road tests for the Lada XRAY in Togliatti. 

According to AvtoSreda, AVTOVAZ is planning to assemble the first pilot model of the Lada XRAY applying serial technology. Pre-production lot of SUVs is expected in November. About a hundred Lada XRAY will be assembled in just three months (September, October and November). Serial production of the crossover will be launched on 15 December 2015. The estimated price of the brand-new is from 500,000-600,000 rubles.

The Lada XRAY is based on the Renault Sandero. The model will be available with three petrol engines: 1.6-liter 106 hp and 1.8-liter 123 hp VAZ engines and 1.6-liter 114  hp Renault-Nissan engine coupled with French manual transmission or  "robot" of AVTOVAZ development.
