Shvabe Was Granted Patent for Radiation Pyrometer
OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding patented a utility model of an infrared radiation pyrometer.
The new device was designed by the engineers of Shvabe - Devices JSC, a Shvabe Holding enterprise. It is used for contactless temperature measurements by measuring the power of thermal radiation from a heated body.
The infrared radiation pyrometer comprises a lens, a laser pointer and an abnormal temperature site highlighter. Radiation is focused by the lens and then is converted by the infrared receiver into an electrical signal proportional to the temperature value read, which is displayed on a digital display. In case temperature exceeds the pre-determined limit, a sound alarm triggers, and the abnormal temperature site highlighter goes into flashing mode. A light spot in the measurement zone, which is highlighted by the laser pointer, shows that the area is abnormal.
"The technical benefit provided by this device is that the abnormal temperature site borders can be determined with a greater accuracy. Moreover, it is convenient to use. Comparing to similar devices, it is smaller and can be powered either from an external power source or from accumulator batteries. Currently, we are deciding whether to proceeding to prototyping," said Vassily Rassokin, General Director of Shvabe - Devices JSC.
Pyrometers are essential for safe temperature measurements of white-hot objects, physical contact with which is impossible. So, their scope of application is very wide: heat and electric power, construction, metallurgy, transport, housing and utility services. Remote temperature control is also required in laboratory research, in security systems and in situations, when people have to work in dangerous, remote or mobile locations.
