Carrefour launches "Get up and do your thing!"
OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2015. Carrefour has joined forces with French actor and comedian Jamel Debbouze to launch the "Get up and do your thing" campaign to coincide with the release of "Why I Did (Not) Eat My Father”. The initiative is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old and is designed to support a whole range of professional or artistic projects.
"Get up and do your thing" – a competition designed to encourage 18 to 30-year-olds
"Get up and do your thing" is a competition that Carrefour has set up with the help of Jamel Debbouze as part of the retailer's proactive policy to grant young people access to training and employment. Together, Carrefour and Jamel Debbouze are seeking to provide young people with the encouragement they need to ensure that their projects are successful. The competition features two project categories: professional (involving setting companies up in particular) and artistic.
A three-step competition
To take part, applicants have to submit their project between 13 April and 11 May in the form of a video and upload it onto www.Getupetfaistontruc.carrefour.fr. They also have to get in touch with one of 200 hypermarkets which are closest to where they live. Once this stage is complete, each store will select two projects (one from each category) and will then try and persuade visitors to the website to vote for their favourite projects between 19 May and 10 June. The 20 videos that get the most "likes" will be shortlisted for the final which will take place on 18 June. The 20 finalists will then be invited to Paris to present their project before a jury of partners and specialists presided over by Eric Bourgeois (Executive Director for Carrefour Hypermarkets) and Jamel Debbouze. Each of the 20 finalists will be a winner… but the overall winner will leave with a cheque for €20,000 and the support they need to implement their project.
