Colombian Consul-General Becomes Chery's Fan During Auto Shanghai 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. The 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2015) opened. Under the theme of "New Standard, New Power, New Chery", Chery showed up with an all-star lineup of two new models--Arrizo M7, Tiggo 5 1.5T and two concept models--Chery5, @ANT3.0. Following the opening ceremony, accompanied by Du Weiqiang, executive vice general manager of Chery International and Doctor Li Naiyi, chief engineer of Chery Automotive Engineering & Research Institute, Colombian Consul-General Ricardo Galindo in Shanghai visited Chery's booth, inquiring about Chery's technical strength and development in Colombia.
At the booth, Calindo carefully listened to the Doctor Li's interpretation of Chery's new models and technologies. Learning that Tiggo 5 was favored by over 100,000 consumers in a single year as one of China's best-selling SUV models and was nominated as "The Best SUV 2015" in Chile, he thumbed up and praised the new model's outstanding performance. Subsequently, he sat into the vehicle for experience and expressed his wish to have a new Tiggo 5. Tiggo 5 became his desired SUV. After learning about the engines and two concept models-5, @ANT3.0 independently developed by Chery, he acclaimed Chery's R & D strong power.
It was no accident that Chery drew attention from Galindo. To date, Chery has become one of the fastest-growing auto brands in Colombia. By late 2014, Chery had been the Chinese sales championship in Colombia for three consecutive years. Galindo considered Chery as the Chinese leading auto brand with tremendous development strength, and Auto Shanghai 2015 has deepened his understanding of Chery. He suggested Chery the possibility to study the establishment in the future of a factory in Colombia to take advantage of its geographical position and all the Free Trade Agreements his country has signed which covers a market of near 1.5 billion consumers around the world.
Apart from Colombia, Chery has developed rapidly in overseas market in recent years. By late 2014, Chery had exported over 1 million units to more than 80 countries and regions in the world, ranking 1st among Chinese auto brands for the 12th consecutive year. Chery will proceed with globalization and progressively transform from "going out" to "going in" for rooted development in the future, so as to achieve the goal of "World Wild Brand" as early as possible, said Mr.Du.
