SoftBank Announces Change of Representative Director
OREANDA-NEWS. SoftBank Corp. announces that on May 11, 2015 it decided on personnel change of Representative Director and appointments of candidates for the position of Directors and Audit & Supervisory Board Members of the Company as below.
The elections of Directors and Audit & Supervisory Board Members are subject to the approval of the 35th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (the "Meeting") to be held on June 19, 2015, and the personnel change of Representative Director is subject to a resolution at the Board of Directors meeting to be held after the close of the Meeting. Selection of Chairman of Audit & Supervisory Board is subject to a resolution at the Audit & Supervisory Board meeting to be held after the close of the Meeting.
Mr. Nikesh Arora assumed positions of Vice Chairman of SoftBank Corp. and CEO of SB Group US, Inc. (former SoftBank Internet and Media, Inc.) in September 2014, and has been deeply involved in the development and execution of the Group's growth strategy. In pursuit of enhancement of the management structure along with further global development, the Company has decided to appoint Mr. Arora as Representative Director, President of the Company.
Mr. Ken Miyauchi, joined the Company in 1984, has been engaging in business expansion of the Group particularly in areas of sales and marketing, and also serves as President & CEO of SoftBank Mobile Corp., a newly born company after the merger of four domestic telecommunications subsidiaries in April 2015. As described in the press release "Changes of Corporate Names of SoftBank Corp. and Subsidiary" issued today, SoftBank Mobile Corp. will change its corporate name to "SoftBank Corp." on July 1, 2015. Mr. Miyauchi will focus on the operation of this company, which is expected to play a larger role in the Group as its core business unit, while continuing to play a leading role in the Group management as a Director of the Company.
The title of Masayoshi Son, Chairman & CEO of the Company, remains the same.
