BASF, Lanxess announce polyisobutene agreement

OREANDA-NEWS. BASF will purchase high molecular weight polyisobutene under a long term toll manufacturing agreement with producer Lanxess, Lanxess announced today.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. BASF will market the products under the name Oppanol N.

BASF already manufactures polyisobutene at its Antwerp and Ludwigshafen plants. Its Oppanol line applications include the manufacture of adhesives, sealants, and chewing gum base, according to its website.
