OREANDA-NEWS. "We expect a G7 summit, which will be held next month, will not just declare a clear position on support for Ukraine, but will also take serious decisions in order to stop Russian military aggression against Ukraine,"  Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated this following a meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Robert Nicholson on Tuesday, May 12.

He has emphasized that Canada as G7 member state plays a decisive role in stabilizing the situation in Ukraine and assisting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine informed that the issue of economic cooperation between Ukraine and Canada was discussed during the meeting with Robert Nicholson.

According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Government expects that "the main negotiator from Canada on signing an agreement on free trade zone between Ukraine and Canada" will arrive on 13 May: "I hope that negotiations will move towards signing an agreement."

On behalf of the Government of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk thanked the Canadian government and personally Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper for "high support for Ukraine, Ukrainians and our common struggle for a free world."

"We have actually opened a new qualitative page of our bilateral relations with Canada. And the level of cooperation and support that is happening now in our bilateral relations is very high," the Prime Minister underlined.
