Fraport Publishes First Combined Business and Sustainability Report
OREANDA-NEWS. In tandem with the company's first quarter 2015 interim financial report, Fraport AG today issued a new combined financial and sustainability report titled: "2014 Compact - Fraport. Finance. Sustainability". The essential contents of the annual report - such as traffic and financial development, strategy, as well as the company's investments outside of Frankfurt - are concisely combined in one single publication, along with the most important aspects of sustainability in one single publication.
Thus, the summary report and the company's recently published "Annual Report 2014" have been issued in a consistent layout and format - for example, with the title photos of both publications creating a single image (when placed side-by-side), which is included as a glossy poster inside the summary report. In its condensed format, the "2014 Compact - Fraport. Finance. Sustainability" publication presents the Fraport Group's financial developments along with sustainability goals, activities and progress - including Fraport's integrated sustainability program.
Dr. Stefan Schulte, Fraport AG's executive board chairman, explained: "We are offering this new format '2014 Compact - Fraport. Finance. Sustainability' in both PDF and printed versions [German], in contrast to the digital-only annual report. Complimentary to our "2014 Compact", we also provide information based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, which we publish as a separate publication on the Fraport website and which has again achieved the Level A+ rating. Combined, these reports describe the progress being made regarding the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, which we been committed to since 2007. I am convinced that these changes in our reporting format will be positively received by readers."
In terms of content, the new "Compact" format focuses on topics such as training and education, advancements in active and passive noise abatement, and energy management. The theme "Frankfurt Airport at Night" - which is the subtitle of Fraport's Annual Report 2014 - examines, among other topics, the effects of the nighttime curfew at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Furthermore, beyond its FRA home base, Fraport is active at 14 airports on four continents worldwide. Sustainability initiatives at four selected international locations are discussed in a separate chapter.
The report also covers the area of diversity, a wide-ranging theme of great importance to Fraport AG. "The international nature of our business has always influenced our daily activities at Frankfurt Airport. We consider the diverse cultures, backgrounds, experiences and languages of our employees to be an opportunity for flexibly and creatively meeting the ever-changing challenges of the international market," stressed Schulte.
