OREANDA-NEWS. In direct recognition of SSE’s ground-breaking ‘human capital' report, John Stewart has been shortlisted for HR Director of the Year in HR magazine’s HR Excellence Awards 2015.
The shortlisting follows the publication of SSE’s ground-breaking ‘human capital’ report.
The shortlist is produced following nominations and input from the HR editorial team, readers and industry experts and is based on achievements during the period 2014/2015.
This award is for someone with, ‘exceptional skills at putting people top of their agenda; someone the world of HR should look up to as an example of excellence.’
John Stewart, SSE Director of Human Resources, said: “I’m delighted that SSE has been recognised for this pioneering report and it’s great recognition for the team that worked to develop the report.
“This report shows in black and white how both a company and society benefits from proper investment in its workforce through increased earnings for individuals and resulting increased tax payments.
“SSE is breaking new ground with this report which helps us properly understand the economic return on investment and shape our future HR plans and our investment in training.”
In a first for a UK company, SSE commissioned a ‘human capital’ report which measures the economic value of the skills and capabilities of the people it employs.
