Flint Hills Port Arthur reports LOU upset

OREANDA-NEWS. Flint Hills Resources reported an upset at a light olefins unit yesterday at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Operators attempting to start a pump connected to the unit discovered a hole in the pump's discharge piping, and the pump was shutdown to stop the leak. The incident resulted in emissions of benzene, butanes, hexanes, nonane, octanes, pentanes and xylenes.
